National Merit Scholars:  Fourteen members of Barrack Hebrew Academy's senior class

were named National Merit Scholars. They represent 25% of our senior class and were

among the 50,000 high scorers nationwide, ranking among the top 5% of the over 1.4 million students taking the test.Congratulations to National Merit Scholar semi-finalists Aaron Cogbill and Michael Lautman and to commended scholars David Carel, Ross Elkin, Reid Ginsburg, Stuart Goldberg, Joesph Levinthal, Brian Levy, Rachel Schwartz, Michael Sklaroff, Sam Sittenfield, Henry Steinberg, Jonah Stern and Daniel Weinblatt.

Soccer Champions: Congratulations to our boys' soccer team, the new Tri-County League soccer champions!

An Evening with David J. Wolpe '76: An enthusiastic audience greeted David J. Wolpe who presented an inspiring review of his latest book, Why Faith Matters, on November 18. His fellow alumni, Class of ''76, also gave David a warm welcome. Copies of Rabbi Wolpe's book are available for $18 per copy. Upper School Drama: Barrack Hebrew Academy's Repertory Company will present The

Dining Room by A.R. Gurney, Sunday, November 30 through Wednesday, December 3, at 7pm in the school auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 dollars for students. For a ticket form, scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on DRAMA.

Rabbi's Scholar Recipients:  Newsflash! Barrack Hebrew Academy's Rabbis' Scholar merit scholarship has been increased to $5,000 for the first year, followed by $3,600 in each succeeding year. Congratulations to Benjamin Berson and Devra Goldstein, the first recipients of our school's new Rabbi's Scholar awards, merit scholarships supported by the Barrack Family Foundation scholarship funds for the students new to our school.  Ben and Devra were nominated for the award by their Rabbis:  Rabbi Joshua Waxman of Or Hadash, Fort Washington, PA and Rabbi Yair Robison of Shir Ami, Newtown, PA.  The students were recognized for their academic achievements, love of Jewish studies, and leadership abilities.  Rabbis throughout the region are invited to nominate a student, new to Barrack, to receive the merit scholarship.  For information, contact Vivian Young, Director of Recruitment and Admissions:  vyoung@jbha.org or 610-922-2350.

Tuition Assistance Information:  Barrack Hebrew Academy has more tuition assistance funds to share with families of all economic backgrounds. We are currently providing tuition assistance to families with incomes ranging from $20,000 to $200,000, depending on individual circumstances.
